SunDance 2020

Join CCDT for the 23rd edition of SunDance in association with the Royal Academy of Dance– the only summer intensive in the world to combine RAD Ballet and Limón Modern. With world-class instruction from leading dance artists from across the globe, this full-day, three week intensive provides young dancers ages 8-19 with the means to realize their artistic potential in a professional, interdisciplinary atmosphere.

Acceptance to SunDance 2020 is by audition only, in person or by video.

All dancers train in RAD Ballet and Limón modern, in addition to enjoying our "Surprise Wednesdays" which include special masterclasses in styles such as Hip Hop, Bollywood, Afro-Caribbean, and Musical Theatre. Culminating the three weeks, each group will perform on the last day of the intensive in an in-studio Showcase for friends and family.

Program A - Advanced

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Techniques

Modern Repertoire & Composition OR Classical Repertoire & Pointe

Prerequisites: Minimum 3 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 8 / Intermediate or equivalent.*
Advanced dancers may also consider applying for Ignite!, an auditioned, one week, pre-professional summer dance program for artists between the ages of 15 and 22 with a focus on the creative process. Ignite! will directly follow SunDance from July 26-31, 2020.

Program B - Intermediate

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Techniques

Modern Repertoire, Spanish Character & Jazz

Prerequisites: Minimum 2 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 7 / Intermediate Foundation or equivalent.*

Program C - Elementary

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Techniques

Modern Repertoire, Character & Jazz

Prerequisites: Minimum 1 year modern and/or RAD Gr. 2 or equivalent.* 8-year-olds with no previous dance training should consider CCDT's Summer Arts program.

Introductory Program (C Intro) July 6-10, 2020

A one-week course combined with Program C, designed to introduce young dancers (ages 8-11) to intensive training. Program C Intro culminates with an open house on Friday July 10th, inviting family and friends to observe Intro dancers' final day of classes.

*Program placement is determined by audition. A dancer's Program placement may change within the first two days of the intensive, at the discretion of the instructors.


A2Y Dance Inc. Aurora Ontario - Summer Dance Camp

Immerse yourself in this Dance Camp Extravaganza!!! It is a summer dance camp a A2Y Dance Inc. where you will enjoy a fun and exciting full or half day of dance, arts and crafts and other rewarding activities. You will spend a full week creating impressive dance routines in multiple styles with innovative choreography from our wonderful staff. We will have a marvelous show performed in front of parents and friends at the end of our week together. Campers leave our week long summer camp excited and in love with dance and eager to come back for more. Come join us this summer!


*Classes will be separated by age based on enrollment

Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - $350.00 +HST

Before and after care available from 8:00 am - 9:00 am and 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - $10.00 per hour (Must be arranged upon registration if needed)



Kingston School of Dance Summer Intensive August 17th -21st, 2020


Our summer intensive offers students the chance to strengthen their technique, enhance their artistry and challenge themselves in a dynamic and inspirational setting. This is an exceptional opportunity for motivated young students to train with some of the best professionals in their fields.

Join us for five days of challenging, energetic, and inspiring classes where students can meet others who share the same intensity and passion for dance.

Interested students may register for either the Junior Intensive (ages 10 to 12*) or Senior Intensive (ages 13+*). Both streams run consecutively in our beautiful waterfront studios at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning (370 King St. West, Unit 303) in Kingston, Ontario.

* Minimum 3 years of previous experience in ballet and or contemporary required.

* Senior level students must have completed a minimum of 4 years of previous dance training and be at the Intermediate or Advanced levels in Ballet or Contemporary dance.
