Indigenous Representation in the Arts

To celebrate Indigenous History Month and kick off the 2021/22 Community Learning Series, CADA/East presents a roundtable discussion on Indigenous Representation in the Arts, with performances from rising stars Semiah and Kennedy Bomberry.

CADA/East's Administrative Director, Ashley Bomberry, will host a panel of Indigenous artists from across Turtle Island and beyond to discuss navigating complex relationships with Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs), intersecting identities, creating art under ongoing conditions of genocide, and more.

This event will be presented as a webinar on June 15th at 7:00 pm and will last about ninety minutes. There will be an opportunity to submit questions for the panel at the end of the evening. We invite you to come together with good minds and share in the knowledge and generosity of our panelists.

In lieu of a registration fee, we are collecting optional donations to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, which provides support and healing to survivors of Canada's genocidal residential school system. We encourage you to contribute, and will make our donation receipt public after this event.

A Zoom link will be mailed to participants on the day of the panel. Please click here to register through Eventbrite.
