Originally a classically trained dancer with a B.F.A. in Performance Dance from Ryerson University, Knox Harter has extensive training in ballet, contemporary, jazz and musical theatre in particular. She is a professional dancer, performer, burlesque artist, choreographer, teacher, director, and creator. Knox has written, choreographed, directed and produced 7 full length, multidisciplinary productions between 2016 and 2019 with her vintage cabaret company High Society Cabaret (highsocietycabaret.com). Professional dance credits include: the Canadian Opera Company, Second City Toronto, Kaeja d'Dance, City Dance Corps, Mastercard Fashion Week, Love Letters Cabaret and the Toronto Fringe Festival. Corporate clients have included The Flight Centre, Walmart, Nike, Volvo, Rotary International, Sleeman's, Make Up Forever, Fallsview Casino, The Broadview Hotel, The Drake Hotel, Casa Loma and MuchMusic.
Knox has had a teaching career spanning nearly 18 years that has included dance studios, intentives, day and over night camps, community programming and public school education. Select establishments include The National Ballet of Canada's InStudio, Metro Movement, Millennium Dance Complex, City Dance Corps and Underground Dance Centre. She is a certified teacher of Kaeja d'Dance's Express Dance Program and Kaeja Elevations program.
Knox is known for her emotional performances with dynamic movement and impressive physical ability. Her repertoire of acts consists of full and lively characters ranging from sweet and humorous to severe and sinister. Her intensity radiates into the audience for an engaging and thrilling spectacle.
