Festival Assistant

Approximately 100 hours, broken down as follows:
October 5 – 9 (approx. 10 hours)
October 12 – 25 (festival weeks, full time. approx. 80 hours)
5-10 hours of wrap up post festival

Fee: Two Thousand Canadian Dollars $2,500 + HST (as applicable). Festival Runner will receive any reimbursements for travel/parking or any out of pocket expenses in alignment with FFDN’s Expense Policy.

About the Role:
The Festival Runner will be responsible for the transportation and coordination of supplies, hospitality, signage, and other production materials related to the all Festival events. This may include pick-up and delivery of materials, artist liaisons and airport greetings, and supporting both back-of-house and front-of-house set-up and strike. This role will work closely with the Festival Coordinator and Senior Producer to identify general administrative and production needs within the festival.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
– Act as a point of contact regarding transportation arrangement of production and administrative materials, across all Festival venues;
– Manage merchandise/signage order pick-ups and deliveries;
– Execute pick-ups and deliveries of hospitality as needed;
– Coordinate with Company Managers to greet artists and dance companies upon arrival at hotels/airport;
– Support front-of-house set-up and strike as needed;
– Works alongside Festival Coordinator to liaise any Front of House considerations;
– Liaise with any artists as applicable or support inquiries from Company Managers or Festival team;

Desired Experience/Skills:
– Work experience and interest in events, festival environment, administration, talent coordination
– Class G Ontario driver’s license, with access to a vehicle
– Very well organized and detail oriented, with ability to multitask
– Knowledge of the Toronto downtown core is an asset
