DanceWeekend
“The best event in dance”
Our flagship event is a sumptuous 2 - 3 day dance festival chocked full of talent, performance, innovation and education, companies, culture, and exceptional opportunities. For our Dance Ontario community to showcase all of its magic... And for the general public to enjoy, engage and be thoroughly moved by all aspects and genres of dance.
DanceWeekend is an Impressive, Exhilarating Celebration
Over its storied 30-year run, DanceWeekend has evolved into a vibrant must-see extravaganza that actively builds creative, networking and organizational bridges. Between our members, the public at large, emerging and established audiences, and one another.
Ballet. Flamenco. Hip Hop. Indian Classical. Egyptian. Chinese. Contemporary. (And everything in between and unfolding!)

DanceWeekend Has a Distinct Flavour All Its Own
Featuring hundreds of dance artists, videos, interactive webinars, interviews and companies, DanceWeekend’s stunning smorgasbord of culture and talent grows richer and more far-reaching year after year.
With ongoing support from Canadian Heritage, The Canada Council and an extraordinary community of partners, sponsors and volunteers, DanceWeekend continues to wow - and expand - the dance community.
And consistently deliver on Dance Ontario’s promise to educate, showcase, entertain, promote, and provide performance and other opportunities for artists.
DANCEWEEKEND'26
January 24 - 25, 2026
DanceWeekend is Dance Ontario’s signature event!
DanceWeekend 2026 brings together a dynamic mix of artists shaping the dance landscape in Ontario. Taking place January 24 and 25 at Harbourfront Centre Theatre in Toronto, the festival offers two days of bold performance, creative risk-taking, and shared experience.
Each program features short works by individual artists and companies, giving audiences the chance to encounter a wide range of movement practices, perspectives, and artistic voices in one place. From emerging creators to established makers, DanceWeekend highlights the diversity and vitality of dance being made across the province today.
Designed as both a platform for artists and an accessible entry point for audiences, the event provides professional production support, a dedicated technical team, and an honourarium so artists can focus fully on their work. DanceWeekend invites newcomers and longtime dance supporters alike to discover fresh ideas, connect with artists, and celebrate the creative energy driving Ontario’s dance community.
Tickets are $20, including tax and fees.
