In early November, two reports have been released that make excellent reading for members within the performing arts sector.

Firstly, the Metcalf Foundation has published Choreographing Our Future by Innovation Fellow Shannon Litzenberger.  Food for thought, it looks at the need for new strategies for supporting next generation arts practice.  Last summer, the Foundation also released Shared Platforms and Charitable Venture Organizations by arts maven Jane Marsland. Both contribute to the assessment of the needs of independent artists and small companies as the look at different models to support artists’ working practice.  www.metcalffoundation.com

Secondly, TAPA (Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts) launched the TAPA Audience Report which should be required reading for the Toronto performing arts community.  It will be available on the organization’s website as of Monday 11 November. www.tapa.ca
