Canada Infrastructure Program:
Community, Culture and Recreation Stream!
ArtsBuild Ontario has been advocating for provincial cultural infrastructure funding to better support creative spaces in Ontario. We are encouraged by yesterday’s announcement from the Ontario Government regarding the Canada Infrastructure Program: Community, Culture and Recreation Stream, and will continue to advocate for this essential support for arts facilities across the sector.
On August 20, 2019 at the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference in the City of Ottawa, Premier Ford announced the government will provide municipalities: with “Important infrastructure such as community centres, sports arenas and cultural centres by opening applications for funding starting September 3, 2019 as part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, which could unlock up to $1 billion in funding.” Read the full press release HERE.
