Susannah Haight, is a freelance contemporary dancer/choreographer based in Toronto. Her earliest exposure to movement and physical expression was as a competitive rhythmic gymnast under the tutelage of Canadian Olympic coach Danuto Smiechowski. She is a graduate of Etobicoke School of the Arts and was bestowed the Edward Lam Memorial Scholarship (presented by Moss & Lam) in dance in her final year.
Susannah completed her post-secondary education at Ecole de danse contemporaine de Montreal (EDCM). She has worked with many choreographers, notably Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Martin Messier and Caroline Laurin-Beaucage.
Susannah continues to work on independent artistic projects and is focused on combining her versatility as a dance with her interests in other forms of visual art such as photography, film, music, and fashion. She has been commissioned by international fashion designers, Paloma Wool (Barcelona, Spain), Kara NYC (New York, US), Rua Carlotta (London, UK), Local Woman (Toronto, Ontario), Miss Noemiah (Montreal, Quebec) to produce (direct, edit, choreograph and perform) short performance art films to be utilized in their social media advertising campaigns.
She is currently completing a BFA in film production at Toronto Metropolitan University in their Image Arts Program with the goal to becoming a cinematographer.
