Toronto: Bengt Jörgen, Artistic Director & CEO of Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, is pleased to congratulate the company’s Director of Touring, Cameron Smillie, on winning the 2017 CAPACOA Award for Touring Agent/Manager of the Year.

Since joining Canada’s Ballet Jörgen in 2003, Cameron has helped expand the company’s reach across Canada. His efforts have directly led to increased opportunities in Saskatchewan and CBJ’s recent return to Newfoundland. Through Cameron’s work, Canada’s Ballet Jörgen now delivers dance programming to every province and reaches more communities across the country than any other organization.

“In his 15 years with the company, Cameron has tirelessly advocated on behalf of Canada’s Ballet Jörgen”, said Bengt Jörgen. “The level of care and detail he brings to his relationships with presenters across the country has enabled CBJ to become a yearly fixture in communities from coast to coast.”

This is Cameron’s fourth CAPACOA Award nomination. In 2015 he was named the BC Touring Council Agent/Manager of the Year.

The CAPACOA Awards “recognize excellence in the field of live performance touring and presenting”, and this year’s winners were announced on November 15, 2017 at the opening gathering dinner for the 30th CAPACOA Conference at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. The CAPACOA Awards are sponsored and presented by Re:Sound.
