DaCo: Dance Collaboration Lab

DaCo: Dance Collaboration Lab is an educational, performance-oriented program developed by Angela Blumberg. The program supports choreographic practices by providing emerging choreographers with resources such as studio space, choreographic workshops, access to dancers and a consultation with a costume designer.
This year, DaCo takes place from August 29 – September 9, 2022. Four emerging choreographers and ten dancers will participate in a 2-week residency to explore choreographic ideas. The residency culminates in a work-in-progress showing at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance on September 9th at 8pm, and we would love to welcome you there! Sharing works-in-progress with the public is a rare opportunity to gain insight into the creative, choreographic process. The choreographers will explain how they translated their choreographic ideas into the physical realm, their vision of a costume design and its conceptual relevance, and present choreographic excerpts. Our goal is to foster a dialogue between creators and viewers so that both parties can deepen their understanding of creating and perceiving dance.
