Presented by Upasana the Spirit of Dance, the POWER OF HOPE series of online virtual performances is a stunning showcase of the power of hope, mixed with passion and steeped in generations of dedication.
Starting on February 26, we are proud to present award-winning Kathak artist Gaurav Bhatti! Featuring unique choreographies composed by India’s renowned Aditi Mangaldas, Upasana’s own Saveeta Sharma, and Gaurav himself. His work is a beautiful marriage of one’s own artistic vision with the richness of Kathak. It’s truly the perfect opening performance for POWER OF HOPE.

About the Dancer:
Gaurav Bhatti moved to India to pursue his artistic dreams. In 2017, he joined the Drishtikon Dance Foundation where he had already performed across three continents with the likes of Anoushka Shankar, Hema Malini and Akash Odedra. He was taught under the guidance of gurus Saveeta Sharma and Lata Bakalkar, and at present continues his artistic development under guru Aditi Mangaldas. He is also a qualified visual artist, placing in the top four in the Canadian reality TV show ‘Bollywood Star.’ Most recently in 2021, he was honoured as the winner of the first Dr. Sunil Kothari Award for Emerging Artists.
