Dance workshop at Performance at The Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University
Monday, December 4 – Friday, December 8, 2023
10:00 am – 12:30 pm at 345 Yonge Street
Guided by Alvin W Collantes and Judy Luo, this 5 session offering will include morning classes, alternating between the Gaga movement language and other contemporary flavours, followed by a workshop session. Participants will be focused on naming and forming individual and collective practice through improvisation and patterned movement cycles to witness “self” and others in space. Incorporating written, visual and filming tools, they will explore sequencing of the body, layers of the body, and move towards a holistic practice that is nourishing for everyone. Judy and Alvin will share elements of their practice and lived experiences from their international careers and encourage participants to lean into their own curiosities, hesitations, voices, and perceived limits.
