On Wednesday, August 21, Arts Milton in partnership with the Milton Centre for the Arts – Town of Milton and Dance Ontario present an evening of contemporary dance performed by local artists in front of Milton Town Hall.
IMAGEO artworks, founded by Milton-born professional dancer, Georgia Simms, will present excerpts from their recent production, Water Moves. The pieces include “sound of the city” which is a dynamic, percussive exploration of urbanism set to music by Patrick Watson, and “magic planet,” a celebration of the wonders of water set to music by Hannah Georgas. Dancers include Julia Garlisi, Jasmin McGraw, Jenna Oxley and choreographer Georgia Simms.
Arts Milton President and local dancer and teacher Elizabeth Kmiec will present original dance pieces including excerpts from her recent production of Nutcase, which premiered in April 2012 at the Milton Centre for the Arts. Elizabeth, joined by the young dancers of The Dance Class, will perform to live music supplied by singer/songwriter Kevin Morse.
