Halton District School Board’s annual dance festival “FLORESCENCE” Celebrating International Dance Day takes place this week. We celebrate on THURSDAY, APRIL 26TH at the New Street Education Centre, 3250 New Street in Burlington L7N 1M8 from 9:15am to 2:00pm. After the Welcoming Ceremonies, students will participate in two technique workshops from a variety of disciplines (bollywood, contemporary, flamenco, hip hop, jazz, musical theatre, rhythm/tap, urban/house) facilitated by area dance artists. The morning finishes with a Show ‘n’ Share session. In the afternoon the HDSB teachers take over running theme based workshops according to the Ministry of Education’s Dance curriculum. This year’s theme is resilience. The day ends with an in-the-round performance. Over 270 students and their teachers will participate in the day.
