Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Competitive Dance Teacher to join our team. This role involves training and inspiring competitive dancers to achieve excellence in technique, artistry, and performance while fostering a supportive and motivating environment. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic mentor with a strong background in dance, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to choreograph award-winning routines.

Key Responsibilities:
– Choreography & Instruction:
– Create and teach innovative and age-appropriate competitive routines in various dance styles (e.g., jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, Acro, ballet, etc.).
– Develop and execute lesson plans focusing on technique, artistry, and performance quality.
– Regularly assess dancers’ progress and tailor training to meet individual and team needs.

Competition Preparation:
– Prepare dancers for competitions, including cleaning routines, perfecting technique, and enhancing stage presence.
– Attend all scheduled competitions, offering support, feedback, and encouragement to dancers.
– Ensure costumes, music, and choreography comply with competition guidelines.

Mentorship & Team Building:
– Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined environment where dancers feel motivated and supported.
– Encourage goal-setting, accountability, and resilience in dancers both on and off the dance floor.
– Address conflicts or challenges with professionalism and tact.

Administrative Duties:
– Collaborate with staff and studio leadership to coordinate schedules, rehearsals, and performances.
– Communicate effectively with parents about dancer progress, expectations, and upcoming events.
– Maintain a safe and organized studio environment.

Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a competitive dance instructor, with a history of successful competition results.
– Strong technical proficiency in multiple dance styles.
– Ability to choreograph creative and compelling routines tailored to dancers’ skill levels.
– Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
– A commitment to fostering a positive and professional learning environment.
– Availability to work evenings, weekends, and attend competitions and events as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Certifications in dance or related fields.
– Experience with teaching preschool to advanced dancers.
– Familiarity with music editing software.
