Dance Instructor

Soulshine Dance Arts is seeking a Dance Instructor to join our staff for the 2026–2027 dance season. This position is for teaching in Fergus, Ontario. SDA is seeking teacher-focused educators. Strong choreography and performance experience is an asset, but our priority is hiring instructors who are passionate about teaching, nurturing, and developing dancers at all levels.

Position Overview

• Acrodance & Lyrical instructor with a strong technical foundation and performance team teaching experience
• Teaching both recreational dancers and performance team dancers
• Contract term runs from September 2026 through May 2027

Responsibilities

• Teach acrodance and lyrical classes for recreational and performance team dancers
• Create age and level-appropriate choreography for the annual recital
• Create age and level appropriate choreography for performance teams
• Support dancers’ technical growth in a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, and studio leadership
• Maintain organized lesson plans, and complete choreography within assigned timelines

Qualifications

• Acrodance certification or a minimum of two years of acrodance teaching experience
• Comfortable choreographing for stage and group settings
• Ability to work with dancers of varying abilities and commitment levels
• Professional, reliable, receptive to feedback, and collaborative in a team-based environment
• 100% commitment to completing the 2026/27 Dance Season

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience and certification
• Additional paid opportunities for choreography and summer programming
