General Manager

Length of the contract: July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 (beginning date flexible and with a possibility of extension)

Type of contract: part-time (on average 18 hours / week)

Type of engagement: self-employed, freelance contractor

Salary range: between $27,000 and $30,000 annually

Work Format: Home office, with occasional in-person meetings at the BoucharDanse office

We look forward to welcoming a dynamic and motivated person to join our team as General Manager, who will work closely with Artistic Director, Sylvie Bouchard, to support and manage the operations of the organization, including the productions, performances, and tours.

About you

We are looking for someone who:
● Is a passionate, not-for-profit leader, with experience working in the performing arts sector, in administration and / or management.
● Is creative and forward-thinking.
● Works well in a fast-paced and open-concept environment and adapts easily.
● Is passionate about dance, or about the arts.
● Is self-motivated and self-directed.
● Values collaboration and is a team player.
● Has strong communication skills.
● Has experience in grant writing and fundraising.
● Can prioritize, respect deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.
● Has the ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends during performance periods.

Have the following software / computer skills:
● High proficiency with G-Suite and Google drive, Mailchimp, Simple video editing skills (iMovie or similar), Basic social media skills.

Assets and attributes:
● Having three or more years of experience with Arts Management is a highly desirable asset.
● Speaking both French and English fluently is a highly desirable attribute.
● Having knowledge of the Canadian dance sector is a desirable attribute.
