‘Women Dancing Afrobeats (W.DA.) ‘ is a vibrant, community-focused program dedicated to bringing the joy and energy of Afrobeats dance to women in Oakville. We create a fun, social, and empowering environment where women can learn, connect, and celebrate through dance. Our sessions combine authentic Afrobeats moves with a focus on fun, community, and cultural enrichment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate, energetic, and skilled dance instructors with experience in Afrobeats, African dance styles, or other high-energy dance genres. Instructors will lead group sessions designed for women aged 25-55, focusing on fun, accessibility, and engagement. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with people, values cultural expression, and can create an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in teaching Afrobeats, African dance styles, or similar high-energy dance genres.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse group of women.
- Passion for Afrobeats culture and enthusiasm for sharing it with others.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Schedule:
- Classes are held once or twice a week, primarily in the evenings or weekends. Availability for specific days and times can be discussed.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
