Looking for a Male identifying dancer

Dance Fachin is looking for a male identifying dancer to join us for our upcoming second school tour!

Information on the upcoming job:

• We’re hiring one adventurous male dancer to join in a trio.
• We’re looking for someone who has strong classical technique and hip hop/jazz funk skills.
• We need someone who can perform theatrically, showing lots of depth within the character.
• Must be able to pick up choreo from video tutorials, coming into rehearsal prepared.
• 11 rehearsals in total, 44 hours of in studio work is required.
• Rehearsals will begin in mid January and will be held once a week, during the day. Scheduling will be made based on collective availability.
• Rehearsals will be held in two different studios, TTC accessible (downtown Toronto), carpooling where applicable.
• School tour begins mid April in Ontario, then proceeds to Alberta and BC.
• We will be performing in elementary & high schools in all three provinces, daytime performances.
• We are a looking for a cool individual, who is a great communicator, loves to travel and wants to be a part of a unique, artistic experience. Flexibility and adaptability is a must!
• We’re a company that runs on transparency and honesty so frequent checkins and discussions are appreciated.
• G1 or G2 license is an asset.
• Travel and accommodations are provided by Dance Fachin.
• Transportation for the tour will be via car with a potential flight. As we’re still receiving bookings, this will become clearer in time. We know for sure that we will be traveling to Edmonton the weekend of April 26-28.
• Based on last year’s numbers and the bookings we have already received, we are expecting 10-20 performances with each dancer making $75-$250 per show.
• As we’re still receiving bookings and inquiries (and will be until March), our tour schedule is still in process.
• Must have a knowledge of sustainability as our rehearsals and production process aims to be as carbon neutral as possible.
• Knowledge of social justice issues is required. Must be sensitive and a supporter of climate justice, racial justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, minority rights and ecological rights.
