The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, expanding, managing and evaluating all dance programs offered for youth at City Dance Corps as part of our Youth Dance Program.

JOB TYPE
This is a full time position with 35- 40 hours per week including weekend hours. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons. Hours are set by the Directors.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least three years’ experience with coordinator experience

Experience with instructing dance programs as a lead instructor

Ability to plan, organize and lead dance programs

Ability to lead, guide and supervise dance instructors

Ability to expand and improve the dance program

Knowledge of company culture, values and objectives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Comprehension of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Acro, Contemporary and Hip Hop Dance techniques and styles.

An understanding of the principles of customer service

Excellent oral & written communication skills

Knowledge with Wellness Living

Ability to use Google Docs, Spreadsheets

Excellent time management and stress management skills

Effective negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create schedule of classes, camps and workshops for the Youth Dance Program

Manage and supervise the entire Youth Dance Program

Create all camps, recitals, programs for the Youth Program

Conduct interviews and hiring procedures for dance instructors

Plan dance staff schedule for each program season

Plan and run all Youth Instructor staff meetings throughout the year

Ordering dance costumes for the year-end recital

Supervise and train dance instructors

Planning, organizing, and executing annual dance recital

Secure and organize performances for the Youth Dance Program

Plan, implement, and lead all performances for the Youth Holiday Party and Year-End Recital

Put together music for all performances on CD and IPod format and make sure to have all other necessary items and paperwork for all performances

Schedule and plan all private lessons

Assist in creating marketing materials for the Youth Program with the help of our marketing staff

Assist with managing the Youth Program social media accounts with the helps of our marketing staff

Monitor dance program quality by observing dance classes, making class recommendations, monitor class levels and descriptions

Collect payment, manage student accounts, collect outstanding balances and ensure all youth classes, camps are paid for

Track attendance and take care of attendance communications with parents

Serve in a professional and courteous manner with the highest regard to the customer

Attend required staff meetings and trainings once per month with all admin staff and directors

Run youth staff meeting quarterly

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the directors

Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of City Dance Corps’ Anti-Racism and Anti-Harassment policies.

Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments

Prepare the program budgets, ie: camps, recitals, costumes, etc

Prepare financial and program reports

Ensure a variety of diverse dance classes is offered and implemented

Ensure program information is available to customers by maintaining updated information on our websites and social media with the help of our marketing team

Encourage existing organizations to include youth dance

Evaluate the effectiveness of programs

Identify areas where new dance programs are needed
