Jayeeta Banerjee is a Toronto-based Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, educator, and the Founder and Artistic Director of Vivarta Center for Performing Arts. Trained under Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty and mentored by renowned artists including Sharmila Biswas and Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya, she has been performing and creating original works for over two decades. Her artistic practice bridges traditional Bharatanatyam with contemporary narratives, with a particular focus on Bengali cultural heritage, feminine power, and storytelling. Jayeeta’s work has been presented across Canada, India, the United States, Singapore and UAE at festivals and venues including the Toronto International Dance Festival, Kabir Centre NextGen Festival, Horizon Series, Montreal Natyanjali,  NCPA India, and the Thanjavur International Dance Festival. She is the recipient of several honours, including the International Women’s Day Award for Performing Arts, the National Nrutya Bhushan Samman, and the Pt. Jasraj National Scholarship.
