Maggie Robertson (she/her) is a queer dance artist practicing in Toronto, ON. Originally from a small, rural community, she grew up dancing and moved to the big city at the age of 18 to pursue a post-secondary degree in kinesiology while continuing to train in dance. Between 2013-2017, Maggie accomplished many things including but not limited to her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto, co-directing a performing arts troupe, Silhouettes Dance Company, and performing in a variety of styles with groups across the city such as Impetus Movement Projects and DARK Dance Company. She now finds herself as a full-time educator in the Toronto District School Board specializing in dance, physical, and special education as well as a part-time dance educator at The Pink Studio in the city’s east end. She has recently taken up self-directing and producing dance works, exploring themes of climate change, environmentalism, and grief. As a teacher, choreographer, and dancer, Maggie believes in meeting people where they’re at as well as using outside interests to create well-rounded choreography and repertoire.
