Nisha is an Odissi dancer, based in Toronto. Nisha has been learning Odissi from the age of 6 years old. She started her training from Guru Chitralekha Patnaik, along with Ellora and Devraj Patnaik. Since 2013, she has been learning from Guru Enakshi Sinha, and is now a senior student and teacher of Mrudanga Dance Academy. Born and raised in Toronto, Nisha has always had a passion for her Indian culture and heritage. She has been involved in many shows in her community, including NABC-The North American
Bengali Conference. During university she also joined many dance teams and got to compete in cities like San Francisco and Phoenix. By profession, Nisha is a French Immersion Teacher in the Toronto District School Board. Nisha hopes to keep pursuing her passion for dance for many years to come and to teach Odissi to the next generation.
