Sabrina has dedicated 18 years to recreational and competitive dancing in various styles, including Hip Hop, Street, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Acro, Pointe, Musical Theatre, and Bollywood, . She began teaching and choreographing at 13, and her favourite styles to teach are Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Jazz.

Certifications and Leadership:

Sabrina has earned certifications in Rhythm Works Integrative Dance, Basic 1 Zumba, Alixia Flexibility Modules 1 and 2, Acrobatic Arts Certifications in Pre-School AcroDance, Module 1, Flexibility and Contortion, and Adjudicator. Comix Method for Street Dance Education, Street Dance Adjudication under Comix Method. Teacher Tap Certification under Artistic Dance Educators, Foundations in Discover Dance, and is also a Certified Teacher in Youth Protection Association for Dance member. She is also a Wingman For Dance Leader, promoting empathy, courage, and inclusion through team-bonding activities.

Inspiration and Philosophy:

Sabrina draws inspiration from a dance teacher with a disability who never let her condition hold her back. This taught Sabrina that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. Sabrina aims to create a positive, fun environment where students feel they belong and can grow as dancers and individuals.

Teaching Style and Highlights:

Sabrina loves helping students develop their skills and confidence. Her favourite memories include witnessing students’ excitement and pride in their accomplishments. She expects students to come to class with an open mind, ready to learn and have fun.

Some projects/activities Sabrina has done in the dance world is dancing in multiple flash mobs to raise funds for dancers who can’t afford to dance. She has also collaborated multiple times with Jump Start in having a pop up free dance class, or attending events to help promote their company. She has also participated in a dance that was created by Isabella Repino to help build her portfolio for the title of Miss Canada.

Approach to Challenges:

Sabrina addresses challenging behaviours by understanding the underlying reasons and encouraging students to express their feelings. She creates a welcoming environment where everyone feels included.

Strengths and Goals:

Sabrina’s greatest strength is creating an inclusive environment. Her favourite age group to teach is teens, while adults present the greatest challenge. She strives to become more versatile in all genres and overcome self-criticism.

Sabrina believes anyone can dance with heart. She encourages students to ask for help, builds their confidence, and prioritizes their safety, well-being, and sense of belonging.
