Suhithakumar Maanikkavasagam is a talented Bharatanatyam dancer from Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. He is currently a student and artist at the Regatta Kala Kendra- Academy of South Indian Classical Dance, founded by Harikishan S. Nair. Suhithakumar’s passion for Bharatanatyam started at a young age, and he received his initial training from Guru Bharathachoodamani Subithra Kirubakaran before moving to Canada. In Sri Lanka, he had the opportunity to perform both solo and ensemble shows, showcasing his skill and talent.In 2013/2014, Suhithakumar was honored with the Kavitha Talent Award for Best Male Dancer of the Year by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Higher Education, a testament to his dedication and hard work in the field of dance. Under the direction of Kalasoori Dr. Arunthathy Sriranganathan, Suhithakumar has had the opportunity to perform across India, including notable performances as Hanuman in Jai Ram and Sri Ram productions in Delhi, Bhopal, and Jaipur.With his passion and dedication to Bharatanatyam, Suhithakumar is sure to continue making waves in the world of dance.
