Kahvontay Slaughter is a Toronto-based Afro-Indigenous artist recognized for his emotionally charged performance quality and compelling stage presence. His work is rooted in truth, storytelling, and human connection, exploring vulnerability through movement. Trained under some of Canada’s most respected dance educators, Kahvontay has worked with influential mentors including John Ottoman, Niki Wozniak, Patrizia Ferlisi, Amanda Donato, Kylie Thompson, and Jami Lynn Harper. He completed his post-secondary dance studies at Centennial College under the artistic leadership of Celestine Eagle, receiving mentorship from acclaimed choreographer Ming-Bo Lam. Kahvontay began his professional career in 2016 with Inamorata Dance Collective, performing across Canada and the US. He has since established himself as a versatile independent artist, choreographer, creative director and Founder of Unapologetic Dance Company.
