Vrunda Upadhyay is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and cultural ambassador with over two decades of training and performance experience. Holding a Master of Arts in Bharatanatyam from Kalidas Nagpur University, she blends deep classical knowledge with creative expression, making her performances both traditional and contemporary in appeal.

She has performed and presented across Canada and internationally, including with the Melbourne award-winning dance production Temple of Desire at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Her recent highlights include the Jamii’s Wayo Festival 2025, supported by the RBC Emerging Artist Mentorship in collaboration with Nova Dance, one of Canada’s premier dance companies.

Vrunda has also showcased her artistry at major cultural festivals such as the Toronto Diversity Festival, Taste of India at Nathan Phillips Square, Canada Diwali, Vserve at Celebration Square, Panorama India Festival, Harmony Festival 2025 (Toronto), Ankura Festival, and Baithak programs, among others.

Alongside her performances, Vrunda conducts dance workshops across Canada, including in Ontario and Saskatchewan, sharing the depth of Bharatanatyam with diverse communities and fostering cultural exchange through teaching.

As the Founder and Artistic Director of Mudra Traditional Arts Academy, Vrunda has nurtured and mentored students across Canada and India, carrying forward the legacy of Indian classical dance with integrity and innovation. Her academy is committed to teaching Bharatanatyam and Indian classical music while encouraging cross-cultural dialogue.

Her contributions to the cultural landscape were recognized with the Arts Acclaim Citizen Award by the City of Brampton (2024). She continues to inspire as both performer and teacher, dedicated to sharing the spiritual depth and artistic beauty of Bharatanatyam.
