Moonhorse Dance Theatre’s founder and long-time Artistic Director, Claudia Moore, has announced her decision to step down as the venerated leader of MDT in the fall of 2022. MDT  is profoundly grateful to Claudia for the passion and commitment she has poured into this company and this community for over 20 years. Moonhorse Dance Theatre was founded in 1996; its vibrant, community-based, equity-involved and percipient program, Older + Reckless, began operations in 2000. At this time, the Board of MDT,  is undertaking a process to seek a new Artistic Director (AD), one with deep connections to our mission and a strong desire to guide the evolution of the company to its next chapter. This is an exciting opportunity to play a role in creating space for the continued artistic expression and contribution by Canada’s gifted senior dance artists, while providing creative engagement for non-professional senior movers and dance lovers of all ages, while maintaining and building on the celebrated programs and commitment to equity and inclusion that are at the heart of Claudia’s achievements.   Our culturally diverse and multi-generational Search Committee is committed to paving the way to a leadership transition that responds successfully to the needs and desires of the broader dance/performing arts community.
