Can you tell us little bit about yourself/company/collective/school?

Culture Shock Canada (www.cultureshockcanada.org) is a professional dance troupe and youth outreach organization.  Utilizing a Hip-Hop inspired foundation,  Culture Shock uses street/club/funk and other fusion based dance forms to educate, entertain and enrich.  We curb social isolation and nourish self esteem one dancer, one commUNITY at a time.

How has the pandemic shifted your work as a professional dance artist?

We continue to cultivate quality online classes/experiences/performances  to engage our local and global community.  

Please share what you are most looking forward to at Dance Ontario’s first virtual DanceWeekend?

Connecting/Reconnecting with colleagues and peers.  Celebrating Ontario’s Dance Community.  

Do you have any up-coming performances/workshops/events you would like to share?

Family Dance Party for Dance Weekend and the Relaunch of our weekly Family Dance and Fitness classes.  We will also be offering our National (June 26)  Showcase Virtually this year!

“We are a troupe of individuals who through the power of music and dance cultivate dignity, self-worth and respect for all people”.   Culture Shock Mission Statement
