When Minister Charles Sousa released the 2016 Ontario Budget yesterday some celebrations were in order in particular that basic post secondary education for young people from low income families will now be free. This is not due to additional funding however but rather to a simplified system for allocating tax credits and grants.
It is noted also that while the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports has received a cut to its estimated expenditure for 2015-16, funding for the Ontario Arts Council and the Ontario Trillium Foundation will remain stable.
