Rock Bottom Movement is a Toronto-based dance theatre company founded and led by choreographer, Alyssa Martin. Originally founded as a busking company in 2012, Rock Bottom Movement has since explored close to twenty new dance works diving deeper into their unique style with each new process. RBM has toured internationally to the Women in Dance Leadership Festival in Louisiana, presented work at festivals including Dance Matters, Fresh Blood, 60×60, SpringWorks and Hamilton Fringe and has presented a series of mixed program evenings at DanceMakers, The Winchester Street Theatre, Shenkman Arts Centre and many intimate studios and spaces. These programs include “Chronicles of a Tangled Mind”, “Meet the Andersons”, “MOCKTALES”, “DIY: the musical” and the “CRUSHED/Mania” Double Bill. In addition to performing, Rock Bottom Movement leads intensives and workshops for both dancers and non-dancers throughout the year. Artistic Director, Alyssa has been commissioned to create work outside of the company for Ryerson University, Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre and The Garage Collective.
