MEET THE FACULTY
KRIS GRZELLA Kristopher is an artist at heart whose passion for movement cycles him back to his roots. Kristopher can be seen both taking dance class and teaching class to fulfill his hunger to learn and share. Kristopher creates choreography and shares his movement style through his involvement with various dance studios and dance conventions as a faculty member. Kris is excited to share his multifaceted knowledge and his special brand of enthusiasm with all of you this year at Fresh. Headshot by Christine Do |
JAZZMIN JAMESJazzmin pursued her professional training in Vancouver, B.C. with the Arts Umbrella Graduate Program under the direction of Artemis Gordon, where she graduated in 2020. While there, Jazzmin performed repertoire by Crystal Pite, Mats Ek, and Johan Inger. In addition to this, Jazzmin has furthered her dance education during intensives at Rubberband Dance, Ballet BC, and Springboard Danse Montréal. Jazzmin has danced professionally with Janet Jackson in her Toronto concert, and has had the opportunity to work on television projects including Degrassi, The Next Step, Backstage, and Full Out. ALESSIA RUFFOLO Currently based in Berlin, Alessia is a Canadian-born performer, choreographer and creative. She holds a BFA in dance from Point Park University (Pittsburgh, USA), and has trained in theater/acting for film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and The New York Film Academy. From 2016-2021, she worked with FAUST nominated choreographer Johannes Wieland as member of the Staatstheater Kassel. KINAJ KINAJ are internationally recognized dance creatives led by Kin Nguien and AJ Velasco. Their mission: to challenge norms and foster collaboration across art disciplines. Through captivating performances and film, KINAJ blends dance styles, improvisation, and partnering techniques. Guided by storytelling, their work addresses social issues with wit and relatability, inspiring audiences with stories and movement. KINAJ believes in the strength of unity and that everything is better together. Their impact reaches far and wide, with accolades from esteemed festivals such as the Russian Mental Health Film Festival and Viet Film Festival. Headshot by Axel Villamil |
