The Dance Current is now seeking an Editor. Kate Morris is moving on to a wonderful new opportunity to pursue her scholarly research. So this means, come the end of May, we will have to say goodbye. At that time, we hope to be greeting our new editor. Please see the job posting here.

Says P. Megan Andrews “Kate has taken the reins of the magazine over the past year with incredible aplomb, and has continued to develop and produce excellent and innovative dance content for all our platforms – print, online and live. During Kate’s editorship, The Dance Current entered into a terrific partnership with The National Ballet of Canada to develop the Emerging Dance Critics Program, through which we’ve published a series of reviews, provided editorial mentorship to a select group of emerging dance writers and co-produced 2 professional development workshops with the Ballet. We look forward to continuing this program, which will continue through our transition under Executive Director Megan Andrews’ leadership.

We so appreciate Kate’s contribution over the past year. Her curiosity, passion and critical perspectives have only strengthened the work that we do and we wish her all the very best in her next adventure (with hopes that we’ll stay in touch and perhaps hear from her in our pages from time to time).

Of course, Kate is working madly on the July/August issue with Managing Editor Brittany Duggan at this moment and we’re excited to see what’s in store for her final issue with us (July/August 2015).

Meantime, the search is on for our next editor, who will take on September/October and move us forward into 2016. Follow the link above and circulate to anyone you think might be the perfect fit!”
