Weave … part one (2012)
Choreography and performance by Yvonne Ng
A solo that asks and tells the story of connection. “…a poetic and evocative work that combines fluid choreography with spoken word in a seamless flow. Yvonne takes facets of her own life growing up in an ethnic Chinese community in Singapore to explore the resonance of identity, the “frequencies” that vibrate inside the individual … flashes of humour, absurd detail and moments of truth that light up the piece.” Art & Culture Maven
Magnetic Fields (2014)
Choreography by Yvonne Ng and performance by Mairéad Filgate and Luke Gardwood
The work explores the unpredictable, shifting energetic field that materializes when bodies, eyes and stories meet. A relationship is a landscape in flux; navigating attractions and repulsions, triggers and tremors, forming new stories, new feelings. In a duet with the ever-elusive other, wounds are rediscovered and sometimes healed. Within these variables is the dance.
